The Cubs’ Amazing Race in Space is PTA’s biggest and most important fundraiser of the school year. Our out-of-this-world goal is to raise and invest $50,000 in our Cubs. Fundraising has begun and we’re counting down the days until liftoff on September 28th!

ABOUT

During grade-level P.E. time on Wednesday, September 28th, students will orbit through space-themed race stations—including Saturn’s hula hoop rings, Little Dipper Water Race, Anti-Gravity Parachute, Gravitational Pull-a-War, Bean Bag Meteors, and Astronaut Obstacle and Agility Space Courses. Our Cubs are going to ROCK-ET!

TK/Kinder 8:45am – 9:45am
2nd Grade: 9:45am – 10:45am
1st Grade: 11:00am-12:00pm

PTA is proud that 100% of proceeds from the Cubs’ Amazing Race go directly back to Cabrillo to fund school assemblies and field trips, family fun nights, enrichment programs, including Writer’s Workshop supplies and programs for the new STEAM Lab,  and much more!

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising for the Cubs’ Amazing Race is similar to fundraising for a jog-a-thon or other donation-based fundraising event. Cubs set a goal to successfully complete all of the space-themed race stations on race day in exchange for fixed-amount donations.

Donate to your student, request donations from family and friends, share your fundraising page on social media, and check with your company to see if they match donations. There are lots of ways to fundraise! Aim for the stars!

Check your email for a link to your student’s personal fundraising page, or click the orange button above to search by student name. If your student is not listed, you may have declined to share your contact information with PTA during school registration; please contact us and we’ll be happy to set up your student’s page!

All donations are tax-deductible and can be made online through the 99 Pledges platform. Fundraising will close at 11:59pm on Friday, September 30th.

PRIZES

We’re over the moon to offer a variety of individual, classroom, and school-wide participation and fundraising awards this year!

  • All students will receive a glow-in-the-dark participation t-shirt to wear on race day
  • The top fundraising class(es) in each grade will win a lunchtime pizza party!
  • Mrs. Wilberg and Ms. Graves have generously offered to dress as astronauts for a day once we raise $10,000, and we’ll celebrate two additional fundraising milestones with glow parties and a special space-themed assembly!
